Night on the Tar

In a few weeks i will be heading East for 10 days to snowboard. This is a new and exciting sport for me, raised in Western Australia where 10 degrees Celsius is 'freezing' and people have garden weddings in winter, i have not yet had the opportunity to explore snow sports...being born in England, having an athletic build and pretty good coordination, i was hoping my Ancestral roots would shine through and I would glide through the snow with ease, grace and the technique of Torah Bright, impressing everyone in sight and possibly being signed by Roxy...reality was rudely thrust upon me by (self proclaimed) experienced snowboarders, enlightening me to the almost definite pain my not-so-well-endowed gluteus maximus will be in...bum pad jokes were exchanged here and there.

So rather than go out onto the snow a freshie i thought i would do a little practice....bracing myself for cuts, scrapes, scars and bruises i am now adopting long boarding...now hold your horses and don't expect anything amazingly radical like back flips but i must admit i think i am getting the hang of it. There are some who say long boarding is nothing like snowboarding and to them i say 'shut up and stop bursting my bubble'...but in all honesty i am loving long boarding and when i am back from snow boarding i do believe i will invest in a kick ass long board...along with all the other 'gnarley' peeps :)

So bored was I on Saturday night that i though i would 'take to the streets' with my new found talent and document in the way i love best...

No i did not fall over...i was deep in thought...but are you as impressed as i am that i didn't fall over whilst wearing ugg boots and my new skinny jeans!...a talent within itself i do believe. Cudos to my gorgeous friend Jessie Rae (JRae) for doing me a solid and picking up Fletcher (my camera) and helping me out.
